Find out how you can help South Somerset Mind
Our Community Day is for anyone experiencing poor mental health who would benefit from attending and participating in group-based activities or for anyone who simply would like some advice and signposting information.
This project provides a welcoming, safe space where people can work together with others outside of a mental health setting. Gardening can have so many beneficial effects on both your mental and physical health. The group meet at St Marks Hall in Yeovil at 11am and walk down to our nearby allotment together.
These groups focus on improving confidence, life skills, assertiveness, social skills and training and employment opportunities. Each group lasts for 3 hours and include both a taught and creative session. Our support workers will also offer short 1-to-1 wellbeing checks in the final part of the session. We run groups in Langport, Shepton Mallet, Yeovil, Crewkerne and Glastonbury.
We work with Compass Disability to support individuals to improve and maintain their mental wellbeing through access to community resources and opportunities. Wellbeing Navigators will work with you to identify, create and implement your own wellness recovery plan. For further information, please call Compass on 01823 351790.
