As many as 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives.
4 in 4 people will be affected directly or indirectly by a mental health problem during their lifetime.
It is estimated that mental health problems cost employers £26 billion a year.
It is possible to recover completely from mental distress and many do. Of those experiencing mental ill health, 70-80% will go on to make a full recovery.
South Somerset Mind was founded in 1985 by people with direct experience of mental health issues to offer help, support, information and activities to those affected by mental health problems in the local community.
Mental health encompasses feeling lonely, anxious, sad or depressed. If you want someone to talk to we have an open access day every Wednesday. You’ll be met
by a volunteer and given a friendly welcome. Refreshments are available at a
reasonable cost. We understand you and can offer a listening ear. We can provide
information about our services and leaflets to help you choose your way forward.
We are here to help you.
