Find out how you can help South Somerset Mind
On Monday, Mind launched their Heads Together campaign at an event at the Olympic Park and it was a real knock-out. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry spent time learning about Mind and sparring for the cameras with special guest Duke McKenzie; the former three time world champion boxer.
Duke runs regular Boxercise sessions for Mind in Croydon to help people to use exercise to boost their mental health. He was joined at the event by Jade and Steph, who attend his boxing classes in Croydon, and Mind Ambassador and singer Frankie Bridge.
Heads Together is a new mental health campaign launched by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. The campaign is being delivered in partnership with a number of mental health charities, including Mind. It aims to make people feel comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing, feel able to support their friends and families through difficult times, and ensure that stigma no longer prevents people getting help they need.
Heads Together will also be the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Charity of the Year, with hundreds of runners representing the campaign to raise awareness of mental health and raise vital funds for the mental health charities. There are 100 positions available for Local Minds to apply for, so if you would like to take part and raise funds for South Somerset Mind please get in touch with our fundraising team firstname.lastname@example.org who will be able to send you all the details you need to know as well as a link to the online application form.
