Find out how you can help South Somerset Mind
We have some fantastic fundraisers here at South Somerset Mind, that take on various challenges throughout the year to help raise vital funds for us. One of this years fundraisers is Simon...
Living with depression and anxiety can make every day feel like you're running up a mountain. That's why I'm fundraising for South Somerset Mind by running up an actual mountain.
On Saturday 23rd September, Simon is taking on the Ben Nevis Braveheart Triathlon; swimming 1.2 miles in a freezing loch, cycling 56 miles through the highlands, then completing a 13 mile run from Fort William, to the summit of Ben Nevis (that's over 4400ft!), then back to Fort William! What an amazing challenge!
Simon has had his own person struggles with depression & anxiety, struggling badly with both of these while trying to complete his PhD. With much help and support from his friends and family, he is now on the road to recovery and even closer to finishing his thesis.
I started to think about those less fortunate than myself, those who have to face the isolation and loneliness of depression and anxiety without the support network which I've been so fortunate to have. South Somerset Mind provide this and more for anyone that needs it, which is why I'm fundraising for them!
If you would like to sponsor Simon for this amazing challenge, then you can click here to visit his Virgin Money Giving Page. We wish Simon lots of luck from all of the South Somerset Mind team & cannot wait to hear how he gets on!
