With mental health being constantly in the news it is good to be chairing a charity that helps people with difficult issues.  I am hopeful that with this greater awareness we can look to a brighter future for those with mental health problems  and through that obtain more funding for those who desperately need our help.

South Somerset Mind works towards a society where more mental ill health is prevented and where individuals who have mental health problems are supported and respected. We will be innovative and purposeful raising the aspirations and expectations of all those who use our services. South Somerset Mind will challenge stigma and discrimination through education and campaigning for equal rights and better mental health services. The production of an inspirational and ambitious strategic plan reflects the commitment and long-term view we take that while people experiencing poor mental health needs us we will be here.
