Find out how you can help South Somerset Mind
At South Somerset Mind, we will be planning events to mark this important day as we are seeing locally an ever increasing demand to help young people due to pressures of modern day life - including exam anxiety, job worries and social media. We are already addressing this through our Youth Matters project which we are seeking to expand in order to support more young people.
Please come along and see us on the 10th October at Ivel Square in the Quedam Shopping Centre, Yeovil to meet our friendly and experienced team to learn more about what we do.
Every year the World Health Organisation recognises world mental health day on the 10th October. The day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. This year's theme is 'young people and mental health in a changing world'.
We rely on your fundraising efforts to enable us to develop and increase provision of services like the vital Youth Matters project, so why not make World Mental Health Awareness Day your big fundraising event for 2018. There are a range of ways you could raise money on our behalf, for example you may consider organising a non-school uniform day at your school, a bake sale or even get involved with our Music for the Mind 2018 initative and organise a musical event in your community.
